IN FINA WE TRUST
Atlantic City, 2018. After I lost $60 to a sex and the city themed slot machine. Things change. Times change. But I’m still the same 📸: @casi .moss
I watched the video of George Floyd with my grandma. She wept when he called for his mama. She said “if I wasn’t so old, I’d be out there too.” Sickened by how many times I’ve seen this, as a POC, as an American. Racial injustice is a tangible, real thing, and to see how people have come out in droves across the world, the sense of unity you feel to your core when marching, to call for change, was one of the most incredible things to witness. We owe so much to the black community, because their contributions are molded into everything we consume, love and idolize. But we have to do it with respect, acknowledgment and awareness. We have to listen, and we’ll make mistakes. But we have to listen. BLACK LIVES MATTER. If you are in a position to donate: go to blacklivesmatter.com, or any organization of your choice that you believe in, and that helps the call for justice. Please share those orgs in the comments!
This is an extreme honor, and I am so thankful to @goldhouseco for this and everything they do. They have proved to be an incredibly strong staple of our community and to be recognized by them is very special. This also marks the start of APAHM - and even though we embark into this with all that is happening in the world, I hope that we all make May a month of togetherness, understanding and kindness, as we also recognize what it means to be Asian American in 2020 . As a community, we must stay strong, be vigilant, be outspoken. I hope everyone is safe and well and Happy May!!
Have been away working for the past few months in all of this devastation, and wanted to make double sure I was OK to travel before coming back home to the US. Haven’t said much about this whole thing because mostly I am just saddened by it. I worry for those who are most at risk for serious illness, the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions. I am saddened by the rhetoric that has come out of this, and the cruelty that came as a result. I hope that while we self isolate and socially distance to stay safe, we also stay sane and calm. Wishing everyone a sense of peace during this batshit crazy time - I will be locking myself up for the next 2 weeks rewatching the Tiger King. Love you all ❤️❤️❤️
On this #internationalwomensday I just want to say how grateful I am to have entered this industry working alongside some amazing groups of women - Sheroes on and off screen. Through the years they have taught me strength, a sense of self, and the importance of unity and community: a true sisterhood. Here is to every woman who has changed my life - and here’s to all the work we’ll continue to do.
I would steal my cousins bottle then go to a non descript corner to chug the shit out of it before anyone found out. I’m a better person now. Tbt
Cried tears of joy when I heard the news. Congrats Lulu Wang - this fearless, balls to the wall, insanely talented DIRECTOR who deserves this and so much more. And to Zhao Shuzhen, who couldn’t be here due to not being able to leave China at this devastating time.. You will always be my nai nai, and my heart is with you always. @filmindependent @thefarewell
The ideal date. @iamsandraohinsta
